Above – Australian Stirrup leather with oxbow attached.
Above – Buckle is reversed. Tongue of the stirrup leather feeds through the buckle and down the inside of the strap.
Above – Stirrup iron and oxbow sits on the tongue of the strap, not the strap itself.
Above – The tongue of the buckle faces to the inside so does not cut into flap or riders leg.
How to Put A Aluminium Oxbow on a 2″ Wide Stirrup Leather
The wide part of the strap goes around the outer part of the oxbow cross bar. The tongue of the strap passes through the 1 1/4″ buckle which is reversed. The tongue then passes through the slot in the crossbar.
This stops the oxbow from slipping sideways and the tongue of the buckle is on the inside of the strap. It can not rub on the saddle flap or the riders leg.
